MPX works with eligible downloaded library tracks, local files, Files providers, and supported personal music servers without pretending to be a streaming catalog. The Music Servers page explains the browse-and-download model in more detail.
Google Drive, Dropbox, and NAS access are exposed through Apple Files. Personal-server tracks are downloaded before playback.
